INCREDIBLE journey learning Szymanowski Violin Concerto No. 2 🥳 so thankful to finally got the chance to play it it’s been on my wislist foreverrrrrr. Even if the orchestration feels dense + heavy at times, it’s a masterful large-scale chamber masterpiece, which is def my favorite thing about this piece🫶🏻 The cadenza is 🔥 It doesn’t just close the 1st mvt: it captivates you back to the solo voice and EXPLODES 💣 outward, acting as structural/dramatic bridge (unlike traditional cadenzas). Then the Polish dance ignites with that relentless snare drum pulse 🥁 Also the arch of the piece🤌🏻 lyrical and march-like 1st mvt → virtuosic fire cadenza → impressionist nocturne → ecstatic finale.
